Hario Switch method
To kickstart your brewing journey, you will need:
- Hario Immersion Dripper SWITCH
- Filter paper
- Kettle [Gooseneck preferred]
- 12g/15g freshly ground coffee [Hot/Cold]
- Weighing scale
- Timer
Pre-Brewing Tips:
- Put the paper filter into your brewer and wet it with hot water.
[This step will remove the paper smell and taste, it also helps to preheat your brewing equipment.] - Discard the rinsing water.
- Pour the coffee ground into the brewer and shake lightly to spread it out evenly.
Brewing steps:
- Total brew time would be approximately 2:30min.
Hot [12g]
0:00 - 0:15 | While the Hario Switch is in the lock position, directly pour 200g of water within 15s into the switch and do not touch it. |
1:00 - 1:00 | At 1:00 min, stir Hario Switch in 3 big rounds and leave it. |
2:30 - 2:30 | Press the release button of Hario Switch at 2:30 mins. Coffee is ready to drink. |
Cold [15g]
Prepare 150g of ice in your brewing jug. | |
0:00 - 0:15 | While the Hario Switch is in the lock position, directly pour 150g of water within 15s into the switch and do not touch it. |
1:00 - 1:00 | At 1:00 min, stir Hario Switch in 3 big rounds and leave it. |
2:30 - 2:30 | Press the release button of Hario Switch at 2:30 mins. Coffee is ready to drink. |
